Pain & Movement Therapy
My treatment philosophy is centered around pain, injury, and movement-related concerns, including muscle tension, headaches, sports and gym injuries, and postural strain from daily activity. Treatment is tailored to your body and goals, with a focus on improving how you move, recover, and function in everyday life.
Who I help
I work with youth and adults experiencing pain, injuries, movement-related restrictions, and the physical effects of stress. This includes athletes, active individuals, office workers, and those dealing with sprains, strains, muscle tension, headaches, or repetitive daily strain.
Treatment is individualized and may help reduce pain, improve mobility, support recovery from injury, and enhance long-term function. It is also aimed at improving comfort in daily activity, sport, and work. Common conditions include neck pain, back pain, headaches, TMJ-related tension, and sports or workplace injuries.
Common Concerns Treated
Neck & Shoulder Pain
Common concerns include neck and shoulder pain, headaches and jaw tension, lower back and hip pain, sports and gym-related injuries, and discomfort related to prolonged desk work or repetitive activity.
Neck and shoulder pain is often related to posture, repetitive strain, stress, or movement restrictions in the upper back and surrounding muscles. Treatment focuses on reducing muscle tension, improving mobility, and addressing contributing movement patterns that may be maintaining discomfort. This can be helpful for both acute tightness and longer-term persistent tension.
Headaches, Jaw tension & TMJ disorder
Headaches, jaw tension, and temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders can contribute to pain, stiffness, and discomfort in the face, neck, and shoulders, with symptoms often referring between these areas and being influenced by muscle tension, stress, posture, or clenching.
Sports & Gym injuries
Treatment can support recovery from sports and exercise-related injuries, including strains, overuse issues, and training-related muscle tension. This may involve addressing load-related irritations, improving tissue tolerance, and supporting return to activity. It is commonly used alongside ongoing exercise or rehabilitation.
Desk Work & Technology Related Pain
Prolonged sitting and repetitive work can contribute to neck, shoulder, and upper back tension. Treatment focuses on reducing muscular overload, improving movement, and addressing areas commonly affected by desk-based work. This can also help with stiffness, discomfort, and reduced mobility associated with prolonged postures.
Lower Back & Hip Pain
Lower back and hip pain can be related to muscle tension, movement restrictions, prolonged sitting, or load-related strain. Treatment aims to reduce discomfort, improve mobility, and support more efficient movement patterns in daily life and activity. This may also include addressing surrounding areas that contribute to load on the lower back and hips.
